How many kWp does a home need? A complete guide

The basic formula

Required home capacity = Monthly electricity use (kWh) × 12 / 1,500

In Uzbekistan, 1 kWp of panels produces on average 1,500 kWh/year.

Example for a family of four

  • Monthly use: 400 kWh
  • Annual: 4,800 kWh
  • Required: 4,800 / 1,500 ≈ 3.2 kWp (6 × 550W panels)

If you have air conditioning

Each air conditioner needs an extra 1.5–2 kWp. With 2 air conditioners, a total of 6–7 kWp is recommended.

Quick table for your family

Household sizeUse (kWh/month)Recommended kWp
2 people2002 kWp
